The dedication of this historical marker for the half-way point of the Crown Point Military Road took place in 2004 on the Howe Family Farm in Vermont. Crown Point Road was the major supply route from Fort #4 in New Hampshire to Crown Point on Lake Champlain in New York. Although the road changed its course numerous times, this was the half-way point from 1776-1777. Approximately 1/3 mile east of the marker is the meadow near a brook where thousands of men would camp for a day or two before continuing their journey west.
